BELGIUM: FC Sporting Adegem (1955-1990) / KVK Adegem (1990-2022) / KSVK Maldegem (B) (2022-)

Waleweg, Adegem (youth academy of KSVK Maldegem, formerly FC Sporting Adegem & KVK Adegem)

Belgium, province: East Flanders

28 VII 2019 / VK Adegem - KSC Excelsior Mariakerke 1-5 / Belgian Cup R1

Note: FC Sporting Adegem, founded in November 1954 (matricule 5831) and taking part in East Flanders' provincial leagues since the summer of 1955, played at Waleweg from the very beginning. In 1990, a merger was concluded with VC Centrum Maldegem (matricule 8357, 1979-90), forming VK (Voetbalklub) Adegem (retaining Sporting's matricule), with all activities moving to Waleweg. The club acquired the royal epithet at its fiftieth birthday in 2005, thus becoming KVK Adegem. In 2022, KVK Adegem, in its turn, merged with KSK Maldegem, becoming KSVK Maldegem - KSVK being a consciously chosen mix of KVK and KSK. First team football moved to Maldegem's Maurice De Waelestadion, but the premises at Waleweg have remained in use for lower team football and training purposes.
