Note: in 2007, Red Star Opheers, founded in 1977, merged with Eendracht Mechelen-Bovelingen, to form Eendracht Mechelen-Bovelingen-Opheers (or EMBO); first team football moved away to Mechelen-Bovelingen's ground at Gelindenstraat, but the premises in Opheers continued to be in use for lower team football and training purposes until finally being abandoned three years after the merger, in 2010, and being turned into farmland. For the further history of EMBO as well as the short-lived club of Opheers VV, please click this link for this website's entry about the ground in Mechelen-Bovelingen.
