Note 1: Hercules (Meppel), founded in 1907, were ordered by the Netherlands' Football Association to change their name due to an older club in Utrecht also bearing the name Hercules (USV Hercules, still existing today). Staying close to their original idea, Hercules (Meppel) became Alcides - Alcides being the name the Greek hero Hercules (Heracles) bore at his birth. MVV Alcides moved to the northern part of Sportpark Ezinge in August 1950, abandoning their old Sportpark De Bult.
