NETHERLANDS: vv Vosseveld (1953-2022)

Sportpark 't Joosthuis, Winterswijk Vosseveld (formerly vv Vosseveld)

Netherlands, province: Guelders = Gelderland

June 2022 / no match visited

Note: Voetbalvereniging (vv) Vosseveld, often referred to in its early days as VVV, saw the daylight in 1943 as the football club of the eponymous hamlet just to the east of Winterswijk. In the first ten years of its existence, the club led a wandering life, playing its football successively at Terrein De Kok, Terrein De Schreur (later taken over by another non-league club, SKVW, and renamed Sportpark De Hunenbelten, 1950-2012), Terrein Den Harden (Bataafseweg), Terrein Van Eerden (Kottenseweg) and Terrein Steengroeveweg. Finally, in November 1953, the club settled down at Sportpark 't Joosthuis, its home for the remainder of its existence. Mainly due to a lack of volunteers, the decision was taken to fold after the 2021/2022 season, ceasing all activities.

NETHERLANDS: SV Keijenburgse Boys

Sportpark Keijenburgse Boys - Pastoor Thuisstraat, Keijenborg (SV Keijenburgse Boys)

Netherlands, province: Guelders = Gelderland

19 VI 2022 / vv Reünie - SV Angeren 1-6 / District East, Sunday League 4 - promotion play-off final (neutral venue) (= NL level 9)

Note: Keijenborg's football club was founded in 1917 and given the Latin name Utile Dulci ("the usual with the pleasurable", abbreviated UD), but renamed SV (Sportvereniging) Keijenburgse Boys in 1934. In the first 32 years of the club's history, various grounds in and around Keijenborg were in use for home games, until finally, in 1949, the current park was inaugurated. Situated at Pastoor Thuisstraat, the opening ceremony was performed by none other than Theodorus Thuis himself, a popular figure in Keijenborg where he had been the local church's priest for forty years (1940-46).

NETHERLANDS: vv Bladella

Sportpark De Smagtenbocht, Bladel (vv Bladella)

Netherlands, province: North Brabant

16 VI 2022 / vv Bladella - vv Hoogeloon 0-3 / District South I, Sunday League 3 - promotion play-off semi (= NL level 8)

Note: In the years just prior to World War I, two football clubs saw the daylight in Bladel: B.V.V. (Bladelsche Voetbalvereeniging, 1910) and W.D.B. (Weg Dien Bal, 1913), with B.V.V. initially playing at 't Heike (1910-14) and subsequently at Den Bult (1914-19) and W.D.B. at Zwartakkers, just a stone's throw to the north of B.V.V.'s first ground. In 1919, both clubs merged, becoming Rooms-Katholieke Voetbalvereniging (RKVV) Bladella. At Bladella's foundation, a new ground was inaugurated as well, Het Muggenhool (at Tootsberg), where the club was home for fourteen years (1919-33). Subsequently, RKVV Bladella - almost universally referred to as vv Bladella - played its football at a ground situated at Varkensmarkt, just behind Willeke Fiers' farm (1933-46) and the newly built Gemeentelijk Sportpark, Marktstraat (later renamed Sportparkstraat) in Bladel's town centre (1946-64). Finally, in 1964, the club moved into its current home, Sportpark De Smagtenbocht, which was adorned with a covered stand in the year following its inauguration. While the impressive and nostalgic little stadium might suggest the club has a glorious past to look back on, vv Bladella usually played a rather modest role in non-league, never rising to a higher level than Sunday League 2.
