Belgium, province: West Flanders
9 X 2022 / KSV Jabbeke - KFC Moen 1-2 / West Flanders, Provincial League 1 (= BE level 6)
Timeline
- 1925 / Foundation of a first Sportvereniging (SV) Jabbeke, but this club, which never joined the Belgian Football Association, proved short-lived. Home matches were played on a pasture at Duikerstraat put at the club's disposal by farmer Agust Packeu.
- 1940 / Refoundation of SV Jabbeke. The new club settles at a pasture owned by another farmer, Ernest Packeu - situated on the crossroads of Duikerstraat and Stationsstraat.
- 1941 / SV Jabbeke joins the so-called Vlaamse Voetbalbond, a rival of the Belgian FA which was largely discredited after World War II due to its collaborationist stance. Upon joining, SV Jabbeke obtained matricule 602. That same year, the club moves to a pasture owned by Isidoor Vanderbussche, to the north of the village centre.
- 1943 / SV Jabbeke wins the title in Vlaamse Voetbalbond's West Flemish league. Following this, the club decides to take the leap to the official Belgian FA - obtaining membership under matricule 3962.
- 1944 / Due to German occupation authorities ordering the construction of trenches on SV Jabbeke's pitch, the club undertakes a third move in as many years, temporarily settling down on a pasture belonging to the farm of Willy Mahieu.
- 1945 / Levelled by German prisoners-of-war, SV Jabbeke inaugurates its new pitch at Zomerweg - a ground owned by Della Faille.
- 1951 / SV Jabbeke purchases its ground, which it had rented for the past six years. In the aftermath, several facilities are added, including a covered terrace.
- 1953 / SV Jabbeke wins its first tangible prize, the title in West Flanders' Provincial League 3B, also entailing a promotion to Provincial League 2. The stay at this level does not last long, and, by the end of the 1950s, the club even finds itself in Provincial League 4. In the following decades, SV Jabbeke alternates spells in Provincial Leagues 2, 3, and 4.
- 1958 / SV Jabbeke signs a 20-year partnership deal with Cercle Brugge KSV, entailing an exchange of youth players as well as an annual gala match between the two clubs in Jabbeke.
- 1960 / Jabbeke's mayor - and from 1961 onwards also senator on behalf of CVP, the Flemish Christian-Democratic party - Albert Bogaert takes over the club's presidency. That same year, SV Jabbeke founds its own youth academy.
- 1980 / Having played at Zomerweg for 35 years, SV Jabbeke moves to a newly built ground at Krauwerstraat, the so-called Vlamingveld. While at Zomerweg, there was just one pitch at the disposal of seven teams, the club henceforth disposes of no fewer than three pitches, six dressing rooms and a clubhouse. Shortly before the inauguration is due, in the early months of 1980, Albert Bogaert's son Rik, who at the time was chairman as well as player of SV Jabbeke, tragically died while playing an away match at KDC Ruddervoorde - mere months before his father Albert also passed away at the age of 65. To honour both men, the ground at Vlamingveld is given the name Bogaertstadion. A bust of Rik Bogaert has graced the entrance ever since. The family ties with the club remained strong, as Rik's son Hendrik - like his grandfather and father a politician representing CVP and its successor CD&V in various capacities - later took over the chairmanship of the club for a while.
- 1991 / SV Jabbeke becomes a Société Royale, adapting its name to become Koninklijke Sportvereniging (KSV) Jabbeke.
- 2002 / After a slightly anonymous existence, mainly spent in the lower reaches of West Flanders' provincial league system, KSV Jabbeke accedes to Provincial League 1 for the first time.
- 2003 / Obtaining just 28 points in P1, KSV Jabbeke drops back into Provincial League 2. In the following 19 seasons, the club alternates spells in P2 and P3.
- 2019 / A new clubhouse is inaugurated, replacing its old, much smaller predecessor.
- 2022 / Winning the promotion play-offs in Provincial League 2, KSV Jabbeke accedes to Provincial League 1 for a second time in club history.
- 2023 / Finishing 16th and last, KSV Jabbeke descends back into P2 after just one season, taking with it RC Lauwe and KSV Veurne.
