Timeline

• 1971 / Foundation of a football club in Kortrijk-Dutsel, a twin village in the Province of Brabant (modern-day Flemish Brabant), situated halfway between Louvain and Aerschot. The new club takes on the name Voetbalklub (VK) Kortrijk-Dutsel, acquiring membership of Belgium’s Football Association (URBSFA / KBVB) under registration number 7758. Club founders are André Wierings and André Van Hoeyveld; the first chairman of the new club is Hugo Thys. Playing just friendly matches in its first season, the club plays its home matches at Terrein Dutselstraat.
• 1972 / After one year of Belgian FA membership, VK Kortrijk-Dutsel is admitted to Brabant’s Provincial League 4. Abandoning Terrein Dutselstraat, the club settles at Terrein Den Akker, at the crossroads of Roostweg and Gravenstraat, for the start of the new season.
• 1984 / Following twelve consecutive seasons in Brabant’s Provincial League 4, VK Kortrijk-Dutsel now wins the title in Brabant's Provincial League 4G, thus acceding to Provincial League 3 for the first time.
• 1998 / Finishing in second-last place in Brabant's Provincial League 3D, VK Kortrijk-Dutsel drops back into Provincial League 4 after fourteen years, alongside bottom club FC Kessel-Lo.
• 2002 / Champions in Brabant's Provincial League 4G, VK Kortrijk-Dutsel manages a return to Provincial League 3.
• 2008 / Finishing in second-last place in Brabant's Provincial League 3D, VK Kortrijk-Dutsel descends into P4 along with bottom club FC Meensel-Kiezegem.
• 2012 / Runner-up in Brabant's Provincial League 4H, 12 points behind runaway champions KVC Langdorp, VK Kortrijk-Dutsel qualifies for the promotion play-offs; finishing in first place in a group with K Europa 90 Kraainem and KVC Asse-Terheide, the club wins promotion to Provincial League 3.
• 2014 / Finishing in twelfth place in Brabant's Provincial League 3D in its last season as an independent club, VK Kortrijk-Dutsel concludes a merger with Racing Nieuwrode (registration number 9580), forming KDN (Kortrijk-Dutsel-Nieuwrode) United under Kortrijk-Dutsel’s registration number 7758. Henceforth, first team football is played at Terrein Den Akker, while Nieuwrode’s Terrein Oep den Berg is retained for lower team football and training sessions. Taking the place of VK Kortrijk-Dutsel, the new club’s first team starts its existence in Brabant’s Provincial League 3.
• 2023 / Finishing in sixth place in Brabant's Provincial League 3C, KDN United qualifies for the promotion play-offs. Defeating KOVC Sterrebeek in R1 (1-1 and penalty shoot-out), the club is eliminated in R2 by eventual winners FC Eendracht Hekelgem (4-1).
• 2024 / Finishing in fifth place in P3D, KDN United qualifies for the promotion play-offs, suffering elimination in R1 at the hands of FC Geetbets (3-1). Following the 2023-24 season, the club withdraws from first team football, continuing with just lower team football. The main team of the club, the reserves, continue to play their matches at Terrein Oep den Berg, with the lower part of the youth academy making use of Terrein Den Akker in Kortrijk-Dutsel.
• 2025 / As KDN United withdraws its reserves' team, the club continues with just its youth academy. The upper part of the academy, including the U21's, play at Terrein Den Akker, with the lower ages making use of the ground in Nieuwrode. Meanwhile, works get underway on the projected Beweegpark De Bruul in Kortrijk-Dutsel, a completely new sports facility for KDN United and padel club ATP Holsbeek. The new facility includes two football pitches, one natural grass pitch and one pitch with a synthetic surface.
• 2026 / KDN United fields a reserves' team again, which takes its place at Terrein Oep den Berg in Nieuwrode, with Terrein Den Akker remaining in use for part of the youth academy. Meanwhile, in September 2026, the two pitches of Beweegpark De Bruul are taken in use as well for some training sessions; because the clubhouse is still under construction, no matches are played on the new site yet.
• 2027 (projected) / Inauguration of Beweegpark De Bruul in Kortrijk-Dutsel, with KDN United abandoning its two old grounds, Terrein Oep den Berg in Nieuwrode and Terrein Den Akker in Kortrijk-Dutsel.
