Timeline
  • 2002 / Foundation of a football club by the Spanish émigré community in Dolhain, Limbourg. The new club takes on the name FC Union Espagnole (UE) Dolhain. Acquiring membership of Belgium’s Football Association, the club is handed registration number 9414. FC UE Dolhain settles on a newly laid-out pitch, Terrain Al’Trappe, alongside the eastern bank of the Vesdre River, across of which the Stade Lambert Fourir (also known as Terrain de la Bêverie) is situated, home of the much older R Dolhain FC. FC UE Dolhain starts its life in Liège’s Provincial League 4, a division from which the club probably never managed to win promotion – although exact data concerning the 2002-08 period are missing.
  • 2012 / Finishing in sixth place in Liège’s Provincial League 4D, FC UE Dolhain qualifies for the promotion play-offs, in which the club is knocked out in R1 by derby rivals R Dolhain FC (1-2).
  • 2014 / In its last season as an independent club, FC UE Dolhain finishes in eleventh place in Liège’s Provincial League 4D. Following the 2013-14 season, the club concludes a merger with neighbours R Dolhain FC, resulting in the foundation of Royale Union Limbourg FC, which retains R Dolhain FC’s registration number 9. With first team football moving to Dolhain FC’s Stade Lambert Fourir, Union’s Terrain Al’Trappe is retained for lower team football and training sessions.
  • 2021 / In the severe floodings which occur in Liège in the summer of 2020, the two grounds in Dolhain, Stade Lambert Fourir and Terrain Al’Trappe, are both washed away by the Vesdre River. Whereas the Stade Lambert Fourir is rebuilt in the following year, Terrain Al’Trappe is deemed beyond repair, having been left to its own devices since.
