Timeline
- 1979 / Foundation of a recreational football club in Moresnet, a village in the easternmost corner of Belgium, close to the tripoint with the Netherlands and (West) Germany. In fact, Moresnet gave its name to the neutral zone Moresnet, which was created in the aftermath of the Congress of Vienna in 1815-16. However, Neutral Moresnet did not comprise the village of Moresnet itself, but rather the small town known better as La Calamine (Kelmis), directly to its east. On its foundation in 1979, the football club was given the name Association Sportive (AS) Viaduc Moresnet – named after the train viaduct looming large over the football pitch. AS Viaduc Moresnet never joined the Belgian Football Association, instead playing its football in the recreational league association EAFV (Eupener Amateurfussballverband).
- 2022 / After an existence of 43 years, AS Viaduc Moresnet ceases its activities, not having revived them until the present day. The pitch below the viaduct is left to its own devices.
