Timeline
- 1965 / Foundation of a football club in the village of Penrhyn-coch in Central Wales. The new club is given the name Penrhyncoch FC – or, in Welsh, Clwb Pêl Droed (CPD) Penrhyncoch – at the foundation meeting held at the Old Church School. The club have played at the Cae Baker ground from its foundation onwards. Following its foundation, Penrhyncoch FC joins the Aberystwyth & District League.
- 1972 / Penrhyncoch FC wins the title in the Aberystwyth & District League for the first time.
- 1975 / Penrhyncoch FC wins the title in the Aberystwyth & District League for the second time. Also in 1975, the club acquires a lease for the Cae Baker ground from the Ceredigion County Council.
- 1976 / Penrhyncoch FC wins the title in the Aberystwyth & District League for the third time – and for the second time in a row.
- 1977 / Penrhyncoch FC wins the title in the Aberystwyth & District League for the fourth time – and for the third time in a row.
- 1978 / Penrhyncoch FC wins the title in the Aberystwyth & District League for the fifth time – and for the fourth time in a row.
- 1979 / Penrhyncoch FC wins the Ceredigion Cup.
- 1980 / Dressing rooms are constructed in situ at the Cae Baker ground.
- 1981 / The clubhouse of the Cae Baker ground, situated just across the street from the pitch, is inaugurated by then Wales manager Mike England.
- 1982 / Penrhyncoch FC becomes a founder member of the Central Wales League Division 2.
- 1983 / Clinching the title in the Central Wales League Division 2, Penrhyncoch FC wins promotion to Division 1 of the said league system.
- 1990 / Penrhyncoch FC becomes a founder member of the Cymru Alliance, a league of clubs from the northern half of Wales – a feeder league of the Welsh Premier League upon the foundation of that top division of the nascent Welsh football pyramid in 1992. To meet the criteria of the Cymru Alliance, a 60-seater stand is constructed at the eastern touchline of the Cae Baker ground as well as barriers being erected around the pitch.
- 1995 / Penrhyncoch FC sees itself being penalised with a deduction of 39 points for fielding an ineligible player, thus finishing bottom of the Cymru Alliance with only 2 points.
- 1996 / Under the aegis of manager Kevin Lewis, Penrhyncoch FC reaches the final of the FAW Trophy, losing 2-1 to reigning cup holders Rhydymwyn FC. One of the strongholders in the Penrhyn team that season was 35-year-old Lee Jenkins, former professional league player at Aston Villa FC, Port Vale FC, Rovaniemen PS, Birmingham City FC, and FinnPa (1979-86).
- 1998 / Voluntarily withdrawing from the Cymru Alliance, Penrhyncoch FC chooses to re-join the Central Wales League.
- 2002 / Penrhyncoch FC finishes in first place in the Central Wales League.
- 2003 / Penrhyncoch FC finishes in first place in the Central Wales League for the second year in a row. Moreover, the club also wins the Central Wales Challenge Cup for the first time.
- 2004 / Runners-up in the Central Wales League behind champions Aberystwyth Town FC Reserves, Penrhyncoch FC chooses to rejoin the Cymru Alliance after six years following the conclusion of a partnership deal with Aberystwyth Town FC, involving Aberystwyth reserves’ players to be moved to Penrhyncoch temporarily to win experience.
- 2005 / Penrhyncoch FC reaches the final of the Welsh League Cup, in which it suffers defeat at the hands of Bala Town FC (3-2).
- 2012 / Penrhyncoch FC wins the Central Wales Challenge Cup for the second time.
- 2014 / Finishing in second-last place in the Cymru Alliance, Penrhyncoch FC suffers relegation into the Central Wales League Division 1 – as a promotion-relegation system has meanwhile been established between the two, making the Central Wales League D1 the third tier of the Welsh pyramid – along with bottom club Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant FC.
- 2015 / Penrhyncoch FC finishes as runner-up in the Central Wales League Division 1, 9 points behind champions Llanfair United FC.
- 2016 / Champions in the Central Wales League Division 1, 1 point ahead of closest followers Knighton Town FC, Penrhyncoch FC wins promotion to the Cymru Alliance – restyled Cymru North in 2019. Also in 2016, a new stand with 75 covered seats was added to the set-up at the Cae Baker ground, being placed at the northern end of the pitch.
- 2023 / Finishing in second-last place in the Cymru North, Penrhyncoch FC suffers relegation to the third tier of the Welsh football pyramid along with Conwy Borough FC and bottom club Holyhead Hotspur FC. For the 2023-24 season, the club is placed in the Ardal North East.
- 2024 / Clinching the title in the Ardal North East, 2 points ahead of closest rivals Bow Street FC, Penrhyncoch FC manages an immediate return to the Cymru North. Moreover, also in 2024, Penrhyncoch FC reaches the final of the FAW Trophy for the first time in 28 years, losing the tie against Newport City FC, played at Latham Park in Newtown (5-4). The successful Penrhyn manager is former player Gari Lewis.
