Timeline
- 1950 / In Bonnert, a village to the north of Arlon (Aarlen), the capital of the Belgian Province of Luxembourg, the Marist Brothers acquire a hillside plot of 10 hectares (25 acres). In the following months, the plot was transformed into a large sports complex with multiple playing fields, to be used by the students of the so-called ISMA, Institut Sainte-Marie Arlon, the school in Arlon run by the brotherhood since 1889. The site is informally named La Cova, a reference to the Cova da Iria, the hamlet near Fatima where St Mary appeared in 1917. The top of the hill of La Cova is duly adorned with a statue of St Mary.
- 1977 / The village of Bonnert, including the Site de la Cova, is absorbed into the municipality of Arlon.
- 1998 / The Site de la Cova is taken over by the municipality of Arlon from the ISMA. The football pitches have since been in use for lower team football and training sessions by clubs in the city - originally R Jeunesse Arlonaise and FC Le Lorrain Arlon.
- 2010 / R Jeunesse Arlonaise is absorbed into FC Le Lorrain Arlon, with the latter taking on the new name FC Jeunesse Lorraine Arlonaise. With Jeunesse's Stade Adolphe Hisette being abandoned, the Site de la Cova remains in use as the youth academy ground of the merger club - with first team football continuing to be played at Avenue de Longwy, a ground which is renamed Stade Yves Lemaire in 2022.
- 2018 / FC Jeunesse Lorraine Arlonaise changes its name to become FC Arlon.
