Timeline

1927 / Foundation of a football club in the village of Ten Aard (sometimes spelled as Tenaard) north of Geel, with the new club taking on the name Beekhoek Sport. The club, which may have joined the Kempensche Voetbalbond (KVB) – but no information is available – settles on a makeshift pitch located at Beekhoekstraat, which gave the club its name.
1935 / Two years after the demise of the KVB, Beekhoek Sport joins the official Belgian Football Association (URBSFA / KBVB) under registration number 2106, taking on the name Beekhoek Sport Gheel.
1936 / For the 1936-37 season, the first competitive season for the club, Beekhoek Sport Gheel is placed in Antwerp’s Regional League 3 (3e Gewestelijke).
1942 / Due to a lack of players – brought about in part due to some of them being called up to work in Germany in the dreaded Arbeitseinsatz, or going into hiding to avoid it – and a small debt to the Belgian FA, Beekhoek Sport Gheel folds, ceasing all activities.
1954 / After twelve years without a football club in Ten Aard, the old Beekhoek Sport is re-established. For the time being, only friendly matches are played. It is unclear if the club already disposed of a pitch at this stage.
1956 / The phoenix club, which saw the daylight two years previously, now joins the Belgian FA as FC Beekhoek Sport with registration number 5925. A pitch is laid out at Broekstraat, i.e. the location where the club is still playing today. For the 1956-57 season, FC Beekhoek Sport is placed in Antwerp’s Provincial League 3.
1971 / Finishing in twelfth place in Antwerp’s Provincial League 3H, FC Beekhoek Sport is retrograded into the newly formed Provincial League 4.
1981 / In spite of only finishing in a mid-table position, FC Beekhoek Sport has the top scorer of the league in its ranks, Paul Gielis, who scored 34 of the 63 goals scored by the club in the 1980-81 season. Subsequently, Gielis signs a contract with National Division 3 side KFC Dessel Sport.
1983 / In part thanks to the revenue of the Gielis transfer two years previously, FC Beekhoek Sport now clinches its first-ever title, in Antwerp’s Provincial League 4D – after a test match – with a side teeming with talented players signed from elsewhere. As such, Beekhoek wins promotion to Provincial League 3 after an absence of twelve years at that level.
1984 / Finishing in second-last place in Antwerp’s Provincial League 3D, FC Beekhoek Sport drops back into Provincial League 4 after just one season.
1990 / Terrein aan de Broekstraat is thoroughly renovated, with the facilities being upgraded with, among other things, a covered terrace and an extension of the clubhouse.
1994 / Finishing in third place in Antwerp’s Provincial League 4D, FC Beekhoek Sport wins promotion to Provincial League 3 following a successful round of play-offs.
1997 / Clinching the title in Antwerp’s Provincial League 3D, FC Beekhoek Sport accedes to Provincial League 2 for the first time in club history.
1998 / In the best season in club history, FC Beekhoek Sport finishes in third place in Antwerp’s Provincial League 2C.
2002 / Finishing bottom of the table in Antwerp’s Provincial League 2C, FC Beekhoek Sport drops back into Provincial League 3.
2004 / Champions in Antwerp’s Provincial League 3D, 5 points ahead of closest rivals K Berg & Dal VV, FC Beekhoek Sport manages a return to Provincial League 2 after two years.
2006 / Finishing in thirteenth place in Antwerp’s Provincial League 2C, FC Beekhoek Sport descends into Provincial League 3 alongside no fewer than eight other clubs – caused by the number of P2 series being reduced from three to two – FC Zwaneven, K Verbroedering Balen, KFC Lentezon Beerse, KFC Meer, KSK Oosthoven, KFC Meerle, KVV Vosselaar, and bottom side Veerle Sport.
2007 / Finishing bottom of the table in Antwerp’s Provincial League 3D, FC Beekhoek Sport suffers back-to-back relegations, descending into Provincial League 4, along with the club in second-last place, SAV Sint-Dimpna Geel.
2008 / Champions in Antwerp’s Provincial League 4E, 5 points ahead of closest followers FC Punt, FC Beekhoek Sport manages an immediate return to Provincial League 3.
2010 / Finishing in second-last place in Antwerp’s Provincial League 3C, FC Beekhoek Sport drops back into Provincial League 4, alongside SAV Sint-Dimpna Geel and bottom club KFC Zammel.
2011 / Runaway champions in Antwerp’s Provincial League 4E, 16 points ahead of closest followers VV Molenkring Lichtaart, FC Beekhoek Sport manages an immediate return to Provincial League 3. Also in or around 2011, FC Beekhoek Sport acquires the royal epithet, thus officially becoming Koninklijke Football Club (KFC) Beekhoek Sport.
2012 / Finishing in fourth place in Antwerp’s Provincial League 3C, KFC Beekhoek Sport qualifies for the promotion play-offs, in which the club knocks out SV Grasheide in R1 (2-1), only to suffer defeat in the final against KFC Eendracht Zoersel (1-0).
2013 / Finishing in third place in Antwerp’s Provincial League 3C, KFC Beekhoek Sport qualifies for the promotion play-offs, in which the club knocks out K Blauwvoet Oevel in R1 (4-3), only to suffer defeat in the final against Minderhout VV (2-3).
2014 / Runner-up in Antwerp’s Provincial League 3C, 4 points behind champions K Retie SK, KFC Beekhoek Sport qualifies for the promotion play-offs, in which the club knocks out KSC Mechelen in R1 (4-1), only to suffer defeat in the final against KFC Ranst (0-2).
2015 / Champions in Antwerp’s Provincial League 3C, 9 points ahead of closest followers KSV Oud-Turnhout, KFC Beekhoek Sport manages a return to Provincial League 2 after an absence of nine years at that level.
2018 / Finishing in thirteenth place in Antwerp’s Provincial League 2B, KFC Beekhoek Sport goes on to have the better of the club in the same position in P2A, KFC Katelijne, in a relegation play-off (4-2 aggr.), thus avoiding the drop.
2019 / Finishing in thirteenth place in Antwerp’s Provincial League 2B, KFC Beekhoek Sport drops back into Provincial League 3 after four years, along with KFC Arendonk Sport, KVV Zwaluwen Olmen, and bottom club Minderhout VV.
2022 / Finishing in fourth place in Antwerp’s Provincial League 3A, KFC Beekhoek Sport is eliminated in R1 of the promotion play-offs by KV Hooikt (4-2).
2025 / Finishing in third-last place in Antwerp’s Provincial League 3C, KFC Beekhoek Sport drops back into Provincial League 4 alongside KVV Rauw Sport, KFC Mol, and bottom club KFC Linda Olen, which withdrew from the competition long before the end of the season.
2026 / Runner-up in Antwerp’s Provincial League 4G, 3 points behind champions KFC Zammel, KFC Beekhoek Sport qualifies for the promotion play-offs, in which the club eases past KFC Heultje in R1 (6-1), only to suffer defeat in R2 against KFC De Kempen B (5-4).
