Stade Jean Depouhon, Stavelot (formerly RCS Stavelotain, A / B / C ground / SC Stâv'leû Sport / AFC Stavelot / RC Fiesse Stavelotain)
Belgium, province: Liège = Luik
March 2018 / no match visited
Note: Club Sportif Stavelotain probably played at the ground shown in the pictures below from shortly after their foundation in 1921. It is unclear when exactly the club left for a new communal ground, Stade Eugène Daxhelet "Aux Bressaix", but it might have been around the year 1955. Meanwhile, the Stade Jean Depouhon remained in use for lower team football and training purposes, also after Stavelotain's move to Stade Pré Messire in the late 1970s. In the 1990s, Stade Jean Depouhon became home to the newly founded club of SC Stâv'leû Sport. After seventeen years in the 'bubbling under' of Liège's Provincial Leagues, Stâv'leu withdrew from the Belgian Football Association altogether to become a member of the recreational leagues of RIL (Royal Intercorporation Liégoise) until finally, in 2013, all activities were ceased. Thereupon, the pitch was used for several years by two other RIL members, AFC Stavelot and RC Fiesse Stavelotain, before both left in the summer of 2017 due to the ongoing dilapidation of the ground. For one more year, it was occasionally used as a training ground by RCS Stavelotain until finally being abandoned in 2018.
