Note: in 1995, K Sporting Alken merged with Vriendenkring Waterkant Alken (founded in 1987) to become K Waterkant Sporting Alken. Twenty-two years later, in 2017, a new merger was concluded between KWS Alken, VC Toekomst Terkoest Alken, and Eendracht Sint-Joris Alken, forming FC Alken. First team football is being played at the Langveld ground in Alken-Centrum.
