Timeline
  • 1940 / Foundation of FC Borgt. There is no definite proof that the club played at Populierendal from its very foundation onwards.
  • 1948 / FC Borgt joins the Belgian Football Association, obtaining matricule 5009.
  • 1998 / FC Borgt obtains the royal epithet, thus becoming KFC Borgt. That same year, the club clinches promotion to Brabant's Provincial League 1 for the first time, maintaining itself at that level for four consecutive seasons (1998-2002).
  • 2003 / Following the move of KFC Borgt's near neighbours KFC Strombeek (matricule 1936) to Molenbeek's Stade Edmond Machtens to become FC Brussels in 2002, KFC Borgt filled the void in Strombeek the following year by changing its name to KFC Eendracht Borgt-Strombeek and moving first team football to Stadion De Singel in Strombeek-Bever. Most probably, the pitches in Borgt remain in use for lower team football and training purposes for four more years (2003-2007). Later on, in 2009, KFC Eendracht Borgt-Strombeek changed its name to become KFC Strombeek, hereby cutting its last ties with the village of Borgt.
  • 2006 / Foundation of a new club in Borgt, FC Borght (note the archaic H).
  • 2007 / FC Borght joins the Belgian Football Association under matricule 9501.
  • 2015 / After winning promotion from Provincial League 4 (2010), Provincial League 3 (2014), and Provincial League 2 (2015), FC Borght accedes to Brabant's Provincial League 1.
  • 2017 / Conclusion of a merger between FC Borght and K Humbeek FC, retaining Humbeek's matricule 39 and becoming KFC Borght-Humbeek. First team football is played in Borgt, while the new club's youth academy moves into Humbeek's Gemeentelijk Stadion (Nachtegaallaan).
  • 2022 / After five consecutive seasons in Provincial League 1, KFC Borght-Humbeek merges with FC Beigem (matricule 7753), forming Fenixx Beigem Humbeek (unofficially referred to as Fenixx BeigHum) under matricule 39. While a synthetic pitch is being constructed in Beigem in the summer months of 2022, the new club's first team plays its home matches in the first half of the season in Borgt.
  • 2023 / In the early months of 2023, upon completion of works in Beigem, all senior teams move to FC Beigem's ground at Parklaan. The ground in Humbeek remains in use for lower team football and training purposes, while Borgt's Populierendal is abandoned after a last home match on February 26th, 2023, against FC Melsbroek. As yet, its future remains unclear; there are plans to pass it onto a local field hockey club.
