Timeline
- 1922 / Foundation of a football club in Almelo, which takes on the name Roomsch-Katholieke Voetbalvereeniging (RKVV) Zwaluwen Almelo. The club, which joins Roman Catholic football federation RKUVB (Roomsch-Katholieke Utrechtsche Voetbalbond, a sub-branch of the RKF or Roomsch-Katholieke Federatie), settles on a pitch at the Gemeentelijk Sportpark at Sluisweg, later moving to Terrein Mooie Vrouwenweg.
- 1923 / RKVV Zwaluwen Almelo changes its name to become RKVV Almelonia.
- 1929 / As RKVV Almelonia folds, its inventory – including the players’ shirts – as well as part of its membership switches to a new-to-be-founded club in the twin villages of Mariaparochie and Harbrinkhoek – with the latter being little more than a hamlet at the time – situated on the northeastern outskirts of Almelo. The new club takes on the name Roomsch-Katholieke Sportvereeniging (RKSV) Mariaparochiaanse Voetbalvereeniging (MVV) ’29, with the founding meeting taking place at Café Frielink, a pub in Harbrinkhoek. Founding fathers of the club are G. Haarhuis and H. Frielink. Most probably, the club settled on a pitch in the vicinity of Café Frielink – still the location of Sportpark Frielinkpark today. RKSV MVV ’29 starts its life as a competitive club in RKUVB Division 2.
- 1931 / Suffering relegation from RKUVB Division 2, RKSV MVV ’29 descends into Division 3 of the said league association.
- 1932 / Winning promotion from RKUVB Division 3, RKSV MVV ’29 wins promotion to Division 1 (!) of the said league association – thus leaping D2 thanks to a reorganisation of the league pyramid of the Roman Catholic football federation, which involves the creation of a so-called Overgangsklasse between the sub-branches of the RKF and its national league divisions.
- 1934 / Suffering relegation from RKUVB Division 1, RKSV MVV ’29 descends into Division 2 of the said league association.

- 1940 / As the RKF, the RKUVB as well as all other football federations other than the official Netherlands’ Football Association (KNVB, renamed NVB for the duration of World War II) are wound up in the face of prospective orders to be expected from German authorities, RKSV MVV ’29 is placed in Sunday Division 2 of the so-called Twentse Voetbalbond (TVB) or NVB Afdeling Twente, the Twente NVB sub-branch.
