Luxembourg, canton: Esch-sur-Alzette
October 2010 / no match visited
Note - The Stade John Fitzgerald (J.F.) Kennedy is home to athletics club CA (Cercle Athlétique) Dudelange as well as American football club Luxembourg Steelers of Dudelange (previously named Dudelange Dragons and Luxembourg Dragons of Dudelange). Given that, at my visit in 2010, there was a football pitch, some sort of football must have been played on the pitch as well - but not by F91 Dudelange, who have consistently used the three grounds of the clubs being absorbed in the 1991 merger: Stade Jos Nosbaum (US Dudelange), Stade Amadéo Barozzi (Alliance Dudelange), and Stade Aloyse Meyer (Stade Dudelange). However, right after the merger, F91 Dudelange played the first matches of the 1991-92 season at Stade J.F. Kennedy, probably due to a new main stand being under construction at Stade Jos Nosbaum at the time. More than a decade previously, in 1980, the ground even hosted an international football match, as Luxembourg entertained the United States in a friendly game (0-2) attended by 1,680 spectators.
