Rue de l'Ecole, Wibrin (B ground of ESC Houffaloise, formerly Jeunesse FC Wibrin / B ground of ES Winaloise)
Belgium, province: Luxembourg
6 V 2018 / ES Winaloise - RCS de la Salm 3-3 / Belgian Luxembourg, Provincial League 2C (= BE level 7)
Note: Jeunesse FC Wibrin, founded in 1953, moved to the ground shown in the pictures below in 1975; the investment was made possible thanks to the one million Belgian francs JFC Wibrin had earned by selling local prodigy (and future Belgian national team player) Michel Renquin to Standard de Liège one year previously. After merging with CS Nadrin to become ES Winaloise in 1990, most of the first team football was played at Nadrin's Rue du Herou ground, though some Sunday afternoon matches took place in Wibrin - such as the game I visited, which incidentally was Winaloise's last-ever home match. In the summer of 2018, ES Winaloise merged with ES Bonnerue and RES Houffalize to form Entente Sportive Communale (ESC) Houffaloise; first team football is being played at Houffalize's ground, but the other grounds have all remained in use for lower team football and/or training purposes.
