Sportpark Houtsdonk, Helmond (HVV Helmond, formerly SC Oranje-Zwart Helmond)
Netherlands, province: North Brabant = Noord-Brabant
29 V 2018 / HVV Helmond - RKPVV 2-13 / District South II, Sunday League 5F (= NL level 10)
Note 1: this emphatic win over HVV Helmond in the last match of the season resulted in RKPVV officially clinching the title in their league and promotion to Sunday League 4 (cp. pictures 20-22).
Note 2: HVV Helmond, founded in 1899, have played their football at Houtsdonk from 1917 onwards. In 1932, a covered main stand was added to the ground (cp. picture 24 - photo on display in HVV's clubhouse). When professional football was introduced in the Netherlands in 1955, HVV Helmond was one of two clubs in Helmond (the other one being Helmondia '55, later renamed Helmond Sport) to embark on a pro adventure, which, unfortunately, proved rather short-lived, as the club withdrew into non-league seven years later. In 1985, the main stand and uncovered terracing of Houtsdonk were knocked down as the pitch was moved some 25 yards to the south to make way for a new road. In the second half of the 1980s, a new main stand was constructed. For the 2018/2019 season, SC Oranje-Zwart Helmond moved in with HVV, becoming groundsharers at Sportpark Houtsdonk, but this club folded in October 2018.
