Note: Turn- und Rasensport Union (TuRU) 1880 Düsseldorf is the result of a 1919 merger between DSC Union 1905, VfR Düsseldorf, and Friedrichstädter TV 1880. Before World War II, the club played its football in the Stadion an der Oberbilker Allee, which was destroyed in the latter stages of the war - and replaced by the current ground, about 100 metres south of its predecessor. Originally holding a crowd maximum of 13,000, the stadium underwent several renovations since its inauguration in 1950, successively reducing the capacity to its current 8,000. Having its heyday in the 1930s and 1940s, TuRU Düsseldorf have been playing at non-league level from 1952 onwards.
