BELGIUM: SC De Stormvogels Sint-Martens-Lennik (1954-1962) / VK Stormvogels (?) (1962-1983) / VC Westhoek Gaasbeek Sint-Martens-Lennik (1983-2002)

Rosweg "Stormvogels-terrein", Sint-Martens-Lennik = Lennik-Saint-Martin (formerly SC De Stormvogels Sint-Martens-Lennik / VC Westhoek Gaasbeek / various recreational clubs)

Belgium, province: Flemish Brabant

July 2022 / no match visited

Note: Sportclub (SC) De Stormvogels Sint-Martens-Lennik, founded in 1954 (matricule 5914), withdrew from membership of the Belgian Football Association in 1962, but possibly continued life as a recreational club (VK Stormvogels?). Meanwhile, in the neighbouring hamlet of Gaasbeek, a new football club saw the daylight, Westhoek Gaasbeek (matricule 8306, founded in 1975), which, according to official sources, concluded a merger with a club from Sint-Martens-Lennik (possibly VK Stormvogels?) to form VC Westhoek Gaasbeek Sint-Martens-Lennik (usually known abbreviatedly as WGSM Lennik) in 1983. Probably, at that stage, first team football moved from Gaasbeek's ground at Trontingenstraat to Rosweg. In 2002, VC Westhoek Gaasbeek Sint-Martens-Lennik, in its turn, merged with KVK Eendracht Lennik (matricule 4157), resulting in the foundation of KFC Lennik, with activities moving to KVK Eendracht Lennik's ground at Frans Van der Steenstraat in Sint-Kwintens-Lennik. From that time onwards, the ground at Rosweg was used by various recreational teams, including Cornac United FC and Nickyspurters. Between 2011 and 2014, Rugbyclub Pajot was home at the ground as well until this club moved to... Frans Van der Steenstraat, which meanwhile had been vacated by KFC Lennik due to their move to a newly built park at Processiestraat, Sint-Martens-Lennik. The ground at Rosweg has most probably been left to its own devices from 2014 onwards.
