BELGIUM: Etoile Villersoise (1980-2019) / RSC Anthisnois (B) (2019-2022) / FC Tours (2021)

Rue Saint-Donat, Villers-aux-Tours (formerly Etoile Villersoise / training ground of RSC Anthisnois / FC Tours)

Belgium, province: Liège = Luik

July 2022 / no match visited

Note: Etoile Villersoise, founded in 1980, was a recreational football club, playing its games in ALFA, an association of recreational clubs from the province of Liège. When Etoile Villersoise ceased activities in 2019, the ground in Villers-aux-Tours were taken over by RSC Anthisnois, who, for three seasons, made use of the park for training purposes, while continuing to play all its matches at Terrain d'El Va in Anthisnes proper. From August to December 2021, RSC Anthisnois allowed the newly created club of FC Tours (matricule 9770), a continuation of ALFA club Standard Rocourt from Herstal, to play its home games at Rue Saint-Donat, but they were kicked out by Anthisnes after a few months only due to ongoing vandalisation of the premises by FC Tours players. For the second half of the 2021-22 season, FC Tours groundshared at GD Poulseur (Rue de l'Ourthe, Poulseur), finishing the season with 30 defeats in 30 matches and an impressive goal difference of 2-524 (!) - not surprisingly, the club folded straight after the season. Meanwhile, in Villers-aux-Tours, RSC Anthisnois ceded the ground at Rue Saint-Donat to Anthisnes' town council, who have allowed the park to be taken over by a local youth movement. At the time of my visit in July 2022, a new clubhouse was in the process of being built.
