Timeline
  • 1932 / Foundation of Éclair Football Club (EFC) Izier. Joining the Belgian Football Association, the club obtains registration number 1829. It is unclear where the ground of this club was situated.
  • 1935 / Clinching the title in Luxembourg's Regional League 3B ahead of US Gouvy matr. 388 and CS Vielsalm, EFC Izier goes on to suffer defeat in the championship play-off against D3A winner SC Muno (5-1), thus missing out on promotion to Regional Division 2, the top tier of Belgian Luxembourg's regional pyramid at that time.
  • 1936 / EFC Izier folds, ceasing all activities after an existence of four years.
  • 1942 / Refoundation of Éclair Football Club Izier. As a new club, this second EFC Izier receives a new registration number, 3527. As in the case of its predecessor, there is no information available regarding the location of the pitch of this club.
  • 1943 / EFC Izier (3527) ceases all activities due to the hardships of war making themselves more and more felt in the southeast of Belgium.
  • 1947 / After four years of inactivity on the part of the club, registration number 3527 of Éclair Football Club Izier is erased from the Belgian FA's official lists.
  • 1957 / A new club is founded in Izier, taking on the name Entente Sportive (ES) Izier, with Marcel Rausin taking on the role of chairman. Upon joining the Belgian FA, ES Izier obtains registration number 6017. The new club, settling on a pitch laid out at Rue Elva, starts its existence in Provincial League 3 of Belgian Luxembourg.
  • 1966 / ES Izier moves to its new ground at Rue des Croisettes, later renamed (in Walloon dialect) Rue des Creûhétes.
  • 1974 / Winning the title in Provincial League 3D, 5 points ahead of closest followers US Vecmont and FC Petit-Han, ES Izier accedes to Luxembourg's Provincial League 2 for the first time in its history. In the two following seasons, the club finishes in respectable fifth and third positions.
  • 1979 / Finishing in joint second-last place in Luxembourg's Provincial League 2C with Bomal FC, ES Izier defeats its local rivals in a play-off, thus avoiding direct relegation. However, in the relegation play-offs against JS Poix and US Saint-Louis Saint-Léger, the club proves unable to hold its own, thus dropping back into Provincial League 3 after five years.
  • 1980 / Winning the title in Luxembourg's Provincial League 3E, 1 point ahead of closest rivals US Melreux, ES Izier bounces back, winning promotion to Provincial League 2.
  • 1982 / Finishing in second-last place in Luxembourg's Provincial League 2C, ES Izier drops back into Provincial League 3.
  • 1984 / ES Izier finishes as runner-up in Luxembourg's Provincial League 3E, 1 point behind Bomal FC.
  • 1985 / ES Izier finishes as runner-up in Luxembourg's Provincial League 3E for the second year in a row, this time having to leave the honours to US On.
  • 2002 / ES Izier finishes as joint runner-up in Luxembourg's Provincial League 3E with RFC Hottonais, having to leave the title as well as the promotion ticket to RSC Rendeux.
  • 2003 / ES Izier finishes as runner-up in Luxembourg's Provincial League 3E for the second year in a row, 1 point behind champions Jeunesse Bourdon.
  • 2004 / ES Izier finishes as runner-up in Luxembourg's Provincial League 3E for the third year running, with the title going to US Waha.
  • 2005 / As ES Izier wins the title in Luxembourg's Provincial League 3F, 7 points ahead of closest followers US Erezée and without suffering a single defeat all season, the club accedes to Provincial League 2 after an absence of 23 years at that level.
  • 2008 / ES Izier obtains the royal epithet, thus becoming Royale Entente Sportive (RES) Izier.
  • 2010 / Finishing in third-last place in Luxembourg's Provincial League 2C, RES Izier drops back into Provincial League 3 after five years, alongside RCS Vielsalm and bottom club R Lierneux FC.
  • 2011 / Runner-up in Luxembourg's Provincial League 3E, 2 points behind champions ES Bourcy, RES Izier qualifies for the promotion play-offs, in which the club is knocked out in R1 by UC Bras (1-1 A.E.T. & penalty shoot-out).
  • 2017 / In August 2017, part of the clubhouse at Rue des Creûhétes is consumed in a fire. For the 2017-18 season, the club groundshares at R Entente Durbuy's B ground, Terrain Driaisne in Bomal-sur-Ourthe
  • 2018 / Following amendments to its own ground, RES Izier returns to Izier in the summer of 2018 after one year in exile at Terrain Driaisne in Bomal - although when the clubhouse will be restored completely or replaced, remains to be seen.
  • 2022 / Having finished dead-last in P3, RES Izier withdraws its first team for the 2022-23 season, instead just competing with a reserves' squad and two youth teams.
  • 2023 / RES Izier returns with a first team in Provincial League 3.
  • 2024 / At the behest of the municipal authorities of Durbuy, RES Izier moves its first team football to the Stade Communal / Basse Commène in Barvaux-sur-Ourthe, which had remained more or less unused since the involuntary departure of RE Durbuy to the Centre Sportif Local de la Ville de Marche (terr. 2) in 2022. The ground at Rue des Creûhétes in Izier remains in use for lower team football and training sessions.
