11 VIII 2024 / OŠK Bešeňová - MŠK Kysucké Nové Mesto 5-2 / 4. Liga - Central Group (= SVK level 4)
Timeline
- ± 1946 / Foundation of a first football club in the village of Bešeňová, situated halfway between Ružomberok and Liptovský Mikuláš in the northern part of Slovakia. The club, called Travertín Bešeňová, is named after the soft limestone rock (travertine) formations to be found close to the village and was founded in 1947 at its latest. It is unclear where this club’s pitch was situated.
- ± 1963 / In the course of the 1960s or early 1970s, the club was renamed Tělovýchovná Jednota (TJ) Bešeňová – but certainly before 1977. TJ Bešeňová never played a role of importance in Czechoslovak football, playing its matches in the lower reaches of the Slovak regional divisions.
- 2006 / From the ashes of TJ Bešeňová, an umbrella club with branches in different sports, a new football club is founded, Obecný Športový Klub (OŠK) Bešeňová. Also in 2006, a new sports park is laid out for the club at Na Váhu, on the western outskirts of the village.
- 2021 / OŠK Bešeňová wins promotion to the fourth tier of the Slovak football pyramid for the first time. Around that same time, the club also concludes a partnership deal with MFK Ružomberok, resulting in - among others - some teams of that club's youth academy occasionally playing their home matches in Bešeňová.
- 2024 / The foundations are laid for the construction of a covered stand at the western side of the main pitch of Futbalové Ihrisko Na Váhu.
