17 VIII 2024 / FC AEDEC-Hyon - RFC Rapid Symphorinois B 2-0 / Hainaut, Provincial League 3C (= BE level 8)

Timeline
  • 1971 / Foundation of a football club in Hyon, a village on the southeastern fringes of Mons (Bergen). The new club takes on the name AEDEC Hyon, with AEDEC being the acronym for Anciens Elèves et amis Des Ecoles Communales (Old Pupils And Friends Of Municipal Schools). Most probably, AEDEC Hyon is the first-ever football club in Hyon to seek affiliation with Belgium’s Football Association (URBSFA / KBVB). Receiving registration number 7592 upon being accepted as new member club, AEDEC Hyon is placed in Hainaut’s Provincial League 4D for the 1971-72 season. The club plays its football at the Centre Culturel et Sportif, with entrances at Rue du Moulin du Bois and Rue du By, from the outset.
  • 1974 / Construction of a clubhouse at the Centre Culturel et Sportif.
  • 1987 / AEDEC Hyon finishes in joint first place in Hainaut’s Provincial League 4D, with an equal number of points as FC Genly-Noirchain, but with an inferior goal difference (+ 33 vs. + 48). As such, the club misses out on promotion to Provincial League 3.
  • 1988 / After seventeen consecutive seasons in the bottom division of Hainaut’s provincial league pyramid, AEDEC Hyon now clinches the title in P4D, 7 points ahead of closest followers SC Tertre, thus acceding to Provincial League 3 for the first time.
  • 1989 / Finishing in second-last place in P3B, AEDEC Hyon drops back into Provincial League 4 after just one season, along with bottom club ASC Maisières.
  • 1994 / Runners-up in P4C, 7 points behind champions Union Ghlinoise, AEDEC Hyon wins direct promotion to Provincial League 3 due to extra promotion places being available.
  • 1998 / Following a spell of four seasons in Provincial League 3, AEDEC Hyon now finishes bottom of the table in P3C, thus dropping back into P4 along with the club finishing in second-last position, RUS Haulchin.
  • 2003 / Finishing in third place in P4B, 6 points behind champions FC Flénu, AEDEC Hyon goes on to win the play-offs, thus winning promotion to Provincial League 3 after an absence of five years at that level.
  • 2008 / Following a spell of five seasons in Provincial League 3, AEDEC Hyon now finishes bottom of the table in P3C, thus dropping back into P4 along with the club finishing in second-last position, RFC Ressaix.
  • 2011 / Champions in P4D, 6 points ahead of runners-up RAS Nimy-Maisières, AEDEC Hyon wins promotion to Provincial League 3.
  • 2014 / Champions in P3B, no fewer than 16 points ahead of closest rivals RLC Givry, AEDEC Hyon accedes to Provincial League 2 for the first time in club history.
  • 2015 / Following the 2014-15 season, AEDEC Hyon absorbs another club from the wider Mons region, JS Borina Quaregnon, which had been founded only three years previously as a merger of two recreational (RGCCMB) teams, Juventus Bridgestone and Jeunesse Turque Ataspor (JTA). Although this club won promotion to Provincial League 2 via the play-offs, it had mainly made headlines due to misconduct by players and supporters. As a result, JS Borina’s owner Philippe Lescot decided to give up on the project, with all players joining AEDEC Hyon, which changed its name to become AEDEC Hyon-Quaregnon, but with Borina’s registration number 9590 being sold to RAS Honnelles, which changes its name to become RAJS Honnelloise and thus earning a place in Provincial League 2. The first team of AEDEC Hyon-Quaregnon plays its football at Hyon’s Centre Culturel et Sportif, with Quaregnon’s Stade Louis Piérard being retained for lower team football and training sessions.
  • 2016 / After just one season, AEDEC Hyon-Quaregnon drops the reference to Quaregnon, becoming FC AEDEC Hyon. Meanwhile, in Quaregnon, the Stade Louis Piérard is taken over by a newly founded club, AC Quaregnon-Wasmuël.
  • 2018 / In the best season in club history, FC AEDEC Hyon finishes in fourth place in Hainaut’s Provincial League 2B, bowing out in R1 of the promotion play-offs against RUE Estinnoise (0-2).
  • 2019 / Finishing in fourteenth place in P2B, FC AEDEC Hyon descends into Provincial League 3 along with RAFC Cuesmes and bottom club FC Colfontaine.
  • 2022 / Finishing in fifth place in P3B, FC AEDEC Hyon qualifies for the play-offs, but the club does not succeed in winning promotion to Provincial League 2. Also in 2022, the clubhouse at the Centre Culturel et Sportif, situated at the southern end of the pitch, is knocked down, with building works on a new, much larger clubhouse getting underway. Meanwhile, the club has to make do with temporary facilities, situated on the other end of the main pitch, at Rue du By.
  • 2024 / With the construction works still not having been finishes, FC AEDEC Hyon has a reasonably successful season on the pitch, finishing in fourth place in P3B and qualifying for the promotion play-offs, in which the club is eliminated in R1 by CS Taintignies (2-0).
