Note 1: it took four years to construct Leeuwarden's Gemeentelijk Sportpark, from 1932 to 1936. LAC Frisia and vv Leeuwarden groundshared on the main pitch; soon after vv Leeuwarden joined the ranks of the professional league clubs in 1954, LAC Frisia were relegated to playing on one of the ground's side-pitches (before finally moving away to Sportpark De Magere Weide in 1968). In 1964, it was decided upon to split up vv Leeuwarden into a league club (named after the ground: SC Cambuur) and a non-league branch, which continued to use the name vv Leeuwarden and groundshared with SC Cambuur in the stadium until 1994, when the non-leaguers packed their bags and moved to the side pitch right behind the stadium's East Stand. Since, SC Cambuur (named Cambuur-Leeuwarden between 1989 and 2009) have been the sole occupants of the stadium.
