3 III 2022 / FC Uitgeest - SV DSOV 3-1 / Sunday League 1A (= NL level 6)
Note 1: Until 1996, the town of Uitgeest sported two football clubs, the non-confessional vv Uitgeest (founded in 1919) and the Roman Catholic USVU (Uitgeester Sportvereniging 'Uitgeest', founded in 1931). vv Uitgeest played their football at Terrein De Zeven Morgen (1919-27) and Terrein Assum (1927-74), while USVU were home at Terrein De Zien (1931-±1940), Terrein Limmerweg (±1940-49), and Sportpark Waldijk (1949-74). In 1974, both clubs moved into their new facilities at Sportpark De Koog, where vv Uitgeest occupied the northern half of the park, with USVU taking possession of the southern part. In 1996, USVU and vv Uitgeest merged, forming Fusieclub (FC) Uitgeest. Since, first team football has been played at USVU's former main pitch. In 2021, the covered stand dating back to the mid-1970s (cp. photo 4 below) made way for a new and much bigger replacement.
Note 2: Thanks to FC Uitgeest for their kind permission to use the photo of their old covered stand (picture 4 below) in this series.
