Belgium, province: Namur = Namen
12 VII 2025 / Celtic Denée Football - FC Saint-Martin Pessoux 4-2 / Pre-season friendly
Timeline
- 1969 / Foundation of a football club in Denée, a village in the Province of Namur situated to the west of Dinant. The new club, which is given the name Jeunesse Denéenne, acquires registration number 7339 upon being accepted as new member of the Belgian Football Association. The club starts its life in Namur's provincial divisions, never making headlines in its existence subsequently. It is clear that Jeunesse Denéenne played its home matches at Rue de Maredret from the very beginning.
- 2010 / In its last season, Jeunesse Denéenne finishes in eleventh place (in a field of fourteen clubs) in Namur's Provincial League 4C. Following the 2009-10 season, the club folds, ceasing all activities; registration number 7339 is erased from the Belgian FA's official lists. Subsequently, the ground is taken over by neighbouring club RFC Bioul 81, who use it for some years for training purposes.
- ± 2014 / RFC Bioul 81 abandons the pitch in Denée, which is taken over by a local farmer and turned into arable land.
- 2017 / With the pitch in Denée meanwhile having been purchased by Anhée's municipal authorities, a new club sees the daylight in Denée, which takes on the green and white colours of its predecessor Jeunesse Denéenne. The founding fathers of the new club, led by Rudy Gillard, choose a very eccentric new name for the club - mirroring its colours - which joins the Belgian FA as Celtic Denée Football, acquiring registration number 9677. Celtic Denée Football starts its life in Namur's Provincial League 4E.
- 2018 / Runners-up in Namur's Provincial League 4E, 5 points behind champions RJS Taminoise B, Celtic Denée Football qualifies for the promotion play-offs, being drawn in a group with RUS Assesse B and Etoile Taminoise, and winning its encounters against both clubs (1-3 and 2-1 respectively). As a result, Celtic Denée Football wins promotion to Provincial League 3 in its first competitive season. The successful coach is Arnaud Strulens.
- 2019 / In the best season in club history, Celtic Denée Football manages a fifth place in Namur's Provincial League 3C.
- 2025 / Narrowly staving off relegation in Provincial League 3A, Celtic Denée Football is taken over by a new presidency in the summer of 2025, by virtue of which the disappearance of the club is avoided.
