Timeline
  • ± 1960 / Sometime in the 1950s or early 1960s, a football pitch is laid out in the new Veeweyde neighbourhood in Anderlecht, a municipality on the southwestern outskirts of Brussels. The ground is officially named Stade Communal d’Anderlecht (Gemeentelijk Stadion van Anderlecht), but almost universally referred to as Stade Verdi due to the proximity of the Place Verdi (Verdiplein). A striking clubhouse is added to the set-up – and has been part of it ever since. Over the years, the ground has been primarily used by recreational football teams, many competing in the ABSSA Saturday leagues, e.g. La Roue, FC Alizé Vétérans, Anderlecht City, Milanello, Elisabeth Club, New Saint Guidon, Breu United, CS Le Clan, and FC Neptune. Possibly, the pitch once also served the youth academy of RSC Anderlechtois. No doubt, the ground was also used by provincial league teams, but no information about the period leading up to 2016 is available on this matter.
  • 2004 / The pitch of the Stade Communal / Stade Verdi is laid out anew with a synthetic surface.
  • 2014 / Foundation of a football club in the western Brussels suburb Berchem-Sainte-Agathe, with the new club taking on the name Amical Sporting Club (ASC) Berchem and joining the Belgian Football Association (URBSFA / KBVB) with registration number 9631. Playing its home matches at Complexe Hunderenveld, ASC Berchem starts its existence as a competitive club in Brabant’s Provincial League 4.
  • 2015 / Finishing as runner-up in Brabant’s Provincial League 4I, 11 points behind runaway champions ROFC Stockel B, ASC Berchem wins promotion to Provincial League 3 due to additional places being available.
  • 2016 / With ASC Berchem changing its name to become Anderlecht SCB (it is unclear what the meaning of the abbreviation SCB was; either Sporting Club Berchem or Sporting Club Brother), the club moves away from Complexe Hunderenveld to settle at the Stade Communal d’Anderlecht (Stade Verdi), sharing the ground with several ABSSA clubs.
  • 2018 / In spite of only finishing in twelfth place in Brabant ACFF Provincial League 3A, Anderlecht SCB wins promotion to Provincial League 2, due to the number of P2 series in the Brabant ACFF area being doubled from one to two – with Provincial League 4 being abolished in the process.
  • 2019 / In the best season in the club’s short history, Anderlecht SCB manages a seventh place in Brabant ACFF Provincial League 2A.
  • 2022 / Finishing in thirteenth place in Brabant ACFF Provincial League 2A, Anderlecht SCB folds, ceasing all activities. A successor club is founded straightaway, Atletico Sporting Club Boys (ASCB) Anderlecht, which joins the Belgian FA with registration number 9786. Strikingly, ASCB Anderlecht joins the Flemish federation (VFV) rather than the French-speaking ACFF, sticking to just playing youth academy football.
  • 2025 / After an existence of barely three years, ASCB Anderlecht folds, ceasing all activities. In the 2025-26 season, the Stade Verdi is used exclusively by ABSSA teams as well as training sessions of some youth teams of Sporting Synergy Berchem.
  • 2026 / A new football club sees the daylight in Anderlecht, Anderlecht Sporting Club Brother (SCB), which joins the Belgian FA with registration number 9870. The new club, which takes over the youth academy of the former ASCB Anderlecht, settles at Stade Verdi, with a first team being fielded in Brabant VFV Provincial League 4 (rather than ACFF Provincial League 3).
