Timeline

1935 / Foundation of a first football club in Boussu-lez-Walcourt, a village in the so-called Botte du Hainaut, halfway between Beaumont and Walcourt. The new club, which is given the simple and straightforward name FC Boussu-lez-Walcourt, is accepted into the womb of the Belgian Football Association (URBSFA / KBVB) in November 1935, obtaining registration number 2344. By that time, the club was already taking part in the 1935-36 season, having been placed in Hainaut’s Regional League 4. It is unclear where the ground of this first FC Boussu-lez-Walcourt was situated.
1936 / With the abolition of Regional League 4, FC Boussu-lez-Walcourt is placed in Regional League 3 for the new season.
1937 / Finishing dead-last in Hainaut’s Regional League 3D, with just one win in sixteen matches and a goal difference of -96 (6-102), FC Boussu-lez-Walcourt is wound up following the season, with registration number 2344 being erased from the membership list of the Belgian FA.
1970 / After a period of more than thirty years without a club within the confines of the village, a new FC Boussu-lez-Walcourt sees the daylight, which joins Belgium’s FA with registration number 7449. A pitch is laid out on a plot of farmland at Rue Toffaite. For the 1970-71 season, the club is placed in the newly created Provincial League 4 – up until the preceding season, the provincial divisions in Hainaut had only had three levels rather than four.
1982 / After twelve years at Rue Toffaite, FC Boussu-lez-Walcourt has to leave its ground at that location, due to the smallholder renting them the plot of land claiming it back. A new location is found at Route de Castillon, on the western outskirts of the village, on several adjoining plots of farmland owned by various smallholders – the main of them being Georges Auguste. A clubhouse is erected in stone alongside the western touchline of the sole pitch.
1983 / FC Boussu-lez-Walcourt has its best season so far, finishing in third place in Hainaut’s Provincial League 4H, only 2 points behind champions US Solrézienne and 1 point behind REC Beaumont.
1984 / FC Boussu-lez-Walcourt copies its result of the preceding season with another third place in Hainaut’s Provincial League 4H, albeit with a far wider gap separating the club from the champions, as CS Forges finishes 12 points ahead of them – and US Macon finishing in second place with an advantage of 1 point over FC Boussu.
± 1985 / The pitch at Route de Castillon is rotated a quarter turn to give it its present position – with the entrance of the clubhouse no longer facing the pitch, but a small adjoining pitch used for training sessions.
1999 / Runner-up in Hainaut’s Provincial League 4D, 2 points behind champions SC Biercée, FC Boussu-lez-Walcourt manages to win promotion to Provincial League 3 for the first time in club history, probably via the play-offs.
2000 / Finishing bottom of the table in Hainaut’s Provincial League 3E, FC Boussu-lez-Walcourt drops back into Provincial League 4 after just one season, alongside the club in second-last place, RC Montagnard.
2001 / Clinching the first title in club history, FC Boussu-lez-Walcourt finishes top of the table in Hainaut’s Provincial League 4D, 1 point ahead of US Buvrinnes-Epinois, thus managing an immediate return to Provincial League 3.
2002 / In the best season in club history, FC Boussu-lez-Walcourt manages a fourteenth place in Hainaut’s Provincial League 3E, but this result proves insufficient to avoid the drop, with the club descending into Provincial League 4 alongside CS Forges, JS Froidchapelloise, and bottom finishers FC Landelies.
2011 / Finishing in fourth place in Hainaut’s Provincial League 4I, FC Boussu-lez-Walcourt qualifies for the promotion play-offs, in which the club bows out in R1 against Entente Presloise (5-6).
2012 / Champions in Hainaut’s Provincial League 4I, 1 point ahead of closest rivals JS Ragnicole, FC Boussu-lez-Walcourt wins promotion to Provincial League 3.
2013 / Finishing in second-last place in Hainaut’s Provincial League 3D, FC Boussu-lez-Walcourt is retrograded into Provincial League 4, yet again after one season only, along with JS Ragnicole and bottom club RC Rance.
2015 / Former FC Boussu chairman Alfred Dupuis, also one of the founding members of the club and a former player, passes away at the age of 69. Later that same year, the ground at Route de Castillon is renamed Stade Alfred Dupuis in his honour.
2022 / Runner-up in Hainaut’s Provincial League 4H, 6 points behind champions Erpion-Lacs de l’Eau d’Heure B, FC Boussu-lez-Walcourt qualifies for the play-offs, in which the club defeats RFC Molenbaix B (0-4) to reach the final, in which it edges past FC Péronnes (2-3 A.E.T.). As a result, FC Boussu wins promotion to Provincial League 3 after an absence of nine years at that level.
2023 / Finishing in second-last place in Hainaut’s Provincial League 3D, FC Boussu-lez-Walcourt drops back into Provincial League 4, along with the club in second-last place, RRC Rance.
2024 / Finishing in fourth place in Hainaut’s Provincial League 4H, FC Boussu-lez-Walcourt qualifies for the promotion play-offs, in which the club is eliminated in R1 by AC Anvaing B (0-1).
2025 / Finishing in fourth place in Hainaut’s Provincial League 4H, FC Boussu-lez-Walcourt qualifies for the promotion play-offs, in which the club is knocked out in R1 by JS Erpion (2-1).
2026 / Finishing in fifth place in Hainaut’s Provincial League 4H, FC Boussu-lez-Walcourt qualifies for the promotion play-offs, in which RUS Courcelloise B proves too strong in R1 (3-1).
