12 VIII 2026 / KVV Zepperen-Brustem - KVV Thes Sport Tessenderlo 0-1 / Beker van Vlaanderen - group stage, Group D
Timeline
- 1959 / Foundation of a football club in Zepperen, a village in the vicinity of Saint-Trond (Sint-Truiden) in the Province of Limburg; the new club, which takes on the name Voetbalkring (VK) Zepperen, joins the Belgian Football Association (URBSFA / KBVB) with registration number 6209. VK Zepperen plays its football on Voetbalterrein Het Dekken and its side-pitch from the creation of the club onwards.
- 2009 / As the club celebrates its fiftieth anniversary, VK Zepperen acquires the royal epithet, thus officially becoming Koninklijke Voetbalkring (KVK) Zepperen.
- 2011 / The side-pitch of Voetbalterrein Het Dekken is equipped with a synthetic surface.
- 2015 / Following the 2014-15 season, a merger is concluded between KVK Zepperen and VV Brustem Centrum, the result being the foundation of Koninklijke Voetbalvereniging (KVV) Zepperen-Brustem. In a compromise deal, the new club retains registration number 8250 of Brustem, with first team football moving to Voetbalterrein Het Dekken in Zepperen. The Hemelrijkstadion in Brustem is retained for lower team football and training sessions. In the 2015-16 season, KVV Zepperen-Brustem takes the place of KVK Zepperen in Provincial League 1.
- 2022 / As KVV Zepperen-Brustem enters a B team in Limburg’s Provincial League 4 for the first time, the chosen venue for home matches is not the Hemelrijkstadion in Brustem, but the synthetic side-pitch of Voetbalterrein Het Dekken.
- 2023 / Champions in Limburg’s Provincial League 1, KVV Zepperen-Brustem wins promotion to VFV Amateur Division 3, the fifth and lowest tier of the Belgian national league pyramid, 33 years after predecessor club VK Zepperen last featured at the national level. The success also creates a problem, as the main pitch at Voetbalterrein Het Dekken does not have the measurements required for national league football – with requirements apparently having changed since the days of VK Zepperen in National Division 4 in the late 1980s. The club is given a respite of two seasons to find a solution.
- 2025 / After two seasons of national league football on the main pitch of Voetbalterrein Het Dekken, which does not have the correct requirements for national league football, KVV Zepperen-Brustem moves its first team football to the synthetic side-pitch of the ground. Two small prefab stands are placed alongside the touchline of the pitch to give shelter to spectators.
- 2026 / Finishing in fifth place in VFV Amateur Division 3B, KVV Zepperen-Brustem qualifies for the promotion play-offs, in which the club edges past KSV Rumbeke in R1 (1-1 A.E.T. & penalty shoot-out), only to suffer defeat in the final against K Eendracht Aalst Lede (0-1). In a lucky loser play-off for one extra ticket in Amateur Division 2, Zepperen loses out against another club from East Flanders, FC Voorde-Appelterre (1-4).
