BELGIUM: R Sorée FC (1975-2022) / FC Saint-Martin Pessoux (2025-)

Terrain du Rond Bois, Sorée (FC Saint-Martin Pessoux, formerly R Sorée FC)

Belgium, province: Namur = Namen

31 VIII 2025 / FC Saint-Martin Pessoux - US Saint-Hadelin Haversin B 2-2 / Namur, Provincial League 4D (= BE level 9)

Timeline
  • 1937 / Foundation of Sorée Football Club (FC). Upon joining Belgium's Football Association, the club obtains registration number 2523. The club probably started its life on the pitch it retained until 1975 at Rue des Bourreliers.
  • 1975 / Moving away from what was probably its initial ground at Rue des Bourreliers, Sorée FC settles at a newly laid-out pitch at Rue du Rond Bois, which is inaugurated in May 1975.
  • 1988 / Sorée FC obtains the royal epithet, thus changing its name to Royal Sorée Football Club (R Sorée FC), sometimes given as RFC Sorée.
  • 2008 / With the history of the club prior to this year having been poorly documented, it is clear that R Sorée FC played its football in Provincial League 4 in the 2008-09 season.
  • 2011 / Runners-up in Namur's Provincial League 4D, 6 points behind champions RFC Sart-Bernard, R Sorée FC qualifies for the promotion play-offs, finishing as runners-up in a group of three behind FCO Namur and RSFC Bièvre B following draws against both clubs. With FCO Namur grabbing the promotion ticket, R Sorée FC goes on to compete in a lucky loser competition, organised due to three additional promotion spots being at stake. In R1, the club loses out on penalties against RCS Faulx-les-Tombes (1-1 in regular play), but eventually manages to claim its spot in Provincial League 3 thanks to a penalty win (2-2 regular play) against JS Eghezée B.
  • 2017 / Finishing in third place in Namur's Provincial League 3C, R Sorée FC qualifies for a promotion play-off group against R Union Sambrevilloise and RCS Profondeville B, suffering a 0-2 home defeat at the hands of the former and managing a 1-2 away win at the latter. As such, having to leave the honours to RU Sambrevilloise, R Sorée FC goes on to compete in a lucky loser final against ES Jamboise, but promotion to Provincial League 2 eludes the club, as Jambes wins the match comprehensively (1-5).
  • 2019 / Finishing in thirteenth place in Namur's Provincial League 3B, R Sorée FC drops back into Provincial League 4 along with ES Boninne, RUS Méan, and bottom side AC Lustin B.
  • 2020 / In the 2019-20 season, cut short due to the first COVID lockdown in March 2020, R Sorée FC finds itself in first place in Namur's Provincial League 4D, 1 point ahead of closest rivals RUS Assesse B, after twenty of 24 matches played. Based on that, the club earns a spot in Provincial League 3 for the following season.
  • 2022 / In what was in retrospect the club's last competitive season, R Sorée FC manages a thirteenth place in Namur's Provincial League 3C, thereby just staving off relegation. However, due to a lack of volunteers, R Sorée FC withdraws its first team before the start of the new season. There are no activities for the 2022-23 season, given that the club has no youth academy or recreational teams.
  • 2023 / R Sorée FC's registration number is erased from the Belgian FA's official lists.
  • 2025 / FC Saint-Martin Pessoux from Pessoux, a village some 15 km to the south of Sorée, having been evicted from their longtime ground at Rue du Château d'Eau in Pessoux proper by Ciney's municipal authorities, rent the pitch in Sorée as a temporary arrangement, thus allowing their club to continue its existence.

Belgium, province: Liège = Luik

May 2022 & August 2025 / no match visited

Timeline
  • 1973 / Foundation of Charneux FC as a recreational club. In the first year of its existence, the club sticks to playing friendlies against teams from surrounding villages. The club disposes of just one pitch, situated at Cour Beaupré. A small clubhouse is constructed, situated on the northern end of the pitch.
  • 1974 / Applying for membership of the Belgian Football Association, Charneux FC obtains registration number 8152 and is placed in Liège's Provincial League 4.
  • 1995 / In a major renovation of Terrain du Cour Beaupré, a start is made on building a new clubhouse on the western side of the main pitch. As this temporarily renders the pitch unusable, an emergency pitch is laid out at the northern end of the old clubhouse, while the club is given the luxury of a training pitch (current terrain 3) to the south of the main pitch.
  • 1996 / In June 1996, the new clubhouse is inaugurated, as well as a new B pitch on its western side. With the emergency pitch being given up, the ground now consists of two pitches suitable for matches as well as one training pitch.

31 VIII 2025 / R Charneux FC B - Entente Jeunesse Fléron B 0-0 / Liège, Provincial League 4E (= BE level 9)

  • 1987 / Having played in Provincial League 4 for the past 13 seasons, Charneux FC manages a first promotion to Provincial League 3. It is unclear how long the club managed to stay at that level, but a relegation back to the bottom division must have occurred some time between 1988 and 1994.
  • 1995 / Charneux FC wins promotion to Provincial League 3 for the 2nd time in club history; also in this case, it is unclear how long the club stayed up at this level, but relegation must have taken place some time between 1996 and 2002. Also in 1995, in a major renovation of Terrain du Cour Beaupré, a start is made on building a new clubhouse on the western end of the main pitch. As this temporarily renders the pitch unusable, an emergency pitch is laid out at the northern end of the old clubhouse, while the club is given the luxury of a training pitch (current terrain 3) to the south of the main pitch.
  • 1996 / In June 1996, the new clubhouse is inaugurated, as well as a new B pitch on its western end . With the emergency pitch being given up, the ground now consists of two pitches suitable for matches as well as one training pitch.
  • 2003 / Charneux FC wins promotion to Provincial League 3 for the 3rd time.
  • 2010 / In Provincial League 3C, Charneux FC manages a respectable 4th place.
  • 2014 / In a repeat of the 2009-10 season, Charneux FC finishes in 4th place in Provincial League 3C. Qualifying for the promotion play-offs, the club reaches the final, which it loses after a penalty shoot-out in an away match at SFC Saive. Charneux FC never came closer to promotion to Provincial League 2, a level which was never reached by the club either before or afterwards.
  • ± 2018 / At Terrain du Cour Beaupré, Charneux FC moves its first team football from terrain 1 to terrain 2, which is situated on a hillside - and hence less vulnerable to flooding.
