Belgium, province: Hainaut = Henegouwen

5 VIII 2025 / JS Aiseau-Presles - FC Espoir Tarciennois 6-3 / Pre-season friendly

Timeline
  • 1950 / Foundation of a football club in Pont-de-Loup, a village on the eastern outskirts of Greater Charleroi, near the provincial border of Hainaut with Namur. The new club, which is given the name FC Pont-de-Loup, acquires registration number 5438 upon joining the Belgian Football Association. Most probably, this club played its football at Stade Camil Lebrun at Rue des Monts from the outset. The pitch is laid out on the pastures of a smallholder, whose name is given to the ground subsequently.
  • 1952 / Two years after its foundation, FC Pont-de-Loup becomes a competitive club, being placed in the bottom division of Hainaut’s provincial leagues at that time, Provincial League 3.
  • 1961 / After nine rather anonymous seasons in Provincial League 3, FC Pont-de-Loup changes its name to become FC Roselies. No doubt, this name change also entailed a move of the club away from Pont-de-Loup to the neighbouring village of Roselies. Possibly, the new club settled on the pitch at Rue des Français in Roselies, but no information is available on this matter. Furthermore, it is unclear what became of Stade Camil Lebrun in the following years. Possibly, the pitch was used by recreational clubs.
  • 1968 / Registration number 5438 undergoes a second name change; after FC Pont-de-Loup became FC Roselies in 1961, the club now takes on the name FC Aiseau, moving to a pitch at Rue d’Oignies in Oignies, a hamlet of Aiseau. Significantly, this name change and move occurred one year after the foundation of the rivalling provincial league club JS Roselies, which plays its football at Rue de la Praile.
  • 1972 / Foundation of a new provincial league club in Pont-de-Loup, which takes on the name Standard Club (SC) de Pont-de-Loup, acquiring registration number 7823 upon joining the Belgian FA.
  • 1973 / One year after its foundation, SC Pont-de-Loup begins its life as a competitive club in Hainaut’s Provincial League 4.
  • 1975 / Champions in Hainaut’s Provincial League 4G, 4 points ahead of closest followers FC Wayaux, SC Pont-de-Loup wins promotion to Provincial League 3.
  • 1976 / In the best season in club history, SC Pont-de-Loup manages a third place in Hainaut’s Provincial League 3C.
  • 1977 / In spite of finishing in a safe eleventh place in Hainaut’s Provincial League 3C, SC Pont-de-Loup is retrograded to Provincial League 4 – possibly as a punishment for misconduct on or off the pitch? – along with bottom club US Piéton.
  • 1978 / SC Pont-de-Loup finishes as runners-up in Hainaut’s Provincial League 4G, 4 points behind derby rivals Entente Presloise.
  • 1979 / SC Pont-de-Loup finishes as runners-up in Hainaut’s Provincial League 4G, 4 points behind champions FC Dampremy.
  • 1980 / After two seasons of being close to the title, SC Pont-de-Loup now finishes top of the table in Hainaut’s Provincial League 4F, 1 point ahead of closest rivals FC Soleilmont, thus winning promotion to Provincial League 3.
  • 1986 / Finishing bottom of the table in Hainaut’s Provincial League 3D, SC Pont-de-Loup drops back into Provincial League 4 after six seasons, along with the club in second-last place, JS Solrézienne.
  • 1989 / In its last season as an independent club, SC Pont-de-Loup finishes in sixth place in Hainaut’s Provincial League 4G. Following the 1988-89 season, Standard Club de Pont-de-Loup concludes a merger with FC Aiseau, resulting in the foundation of FC Pont-de-Loup-Aiseau, with Aiseau’s registration number 5438 being retained. First team football is played at Rue d’Oignies in Oignies, while Stade Camil Lebrun in Pont-de-Loup is retained for lower team football and training purposes.
  • 1995 / Probably coinciding with FC Pont-de-Loup-Aiseau abandoning their youth academy ground in Pont-de-Loup, a new club is founded at Stade Camil Lebrun: Sporting Pont-de-Loup, which acquires registration number 9278 upon being accepted as a new member club of the Belgian FA. Sporting Pont-de-Loup starts its life in Hainaut’s Provincial League 4.
  • 1998 / Sporting Pont-de-Loup finishes as runners-up in Hainaut’s Provincial League 4C, 18 points behind runaway champions FC Aldegondois.
  • 2001 / FC Pont-de-Loup-Aiseau folds, ceasing all activities; registration number 5438 is erased from the Belgian FA’s official lists. The pitch at Rue d’Oignies is abandoned.
  • 2005 / Champions in Hainaut’s Provincial League 4D, 8 points ahead of runners-up JS Dampremy, Sporting Pont-de-Loup wins promotion to Provincial League 3.
  • 2006 / Finishing in second-last place in Hainaut’s Provincial League 3D, Sporting Pont-de-Loup drops back into Provincial League 4 after just one season, along with bottom club CS Forges.
  • 2007 / Champions in Hainaut’s Provincial League 4F, 4 points ahead of closest followers Entente Presloise, Sporting Pont-de-Loup wins promotion to Provincial League 3.
  • 2008 / In the best season in club history, Sporting Pont-de-Loup manages a sixth place in Hainaut’s Provincial League 3D.
  • 2009 / Finishing bottom of the table in Hainaut’s Provincial League 3D, Sporting Pont-de-Loup drops back into Provincial League 4 along with the clubs in third and second-last places, JS Ragnicole and RRFC Gozée.
  • 2013 / In its last season, Sporting Pont-de-Loup finishes in twelfth place in Hainaut’s Provincial League 4G. Following the 2012-13 season, the club folds, ceasing all activities; registration number 9278 is erased from the Belgian FA’s official lists. Following this, at the suggestion of players of recreational club FC Gougnies, who groundshared with Sporting at Stade Camil Lebrun, former AS Châtelineau player Jean Jacques forms a new club, Jeunesse Sportive (JS) Aiseau-Presles, which settles at the ground in Pont-de-Loup, acquiring registration number 9606 upon joining the Belgian FA.
  • 2016 / In the best season in club history until now, JS Aiseau-Presles finishes in third place in Hainaut’s Provincial League 4H, narrowly missing out on qualification for the promotion play-offs.
