Complexe Sportif Les Bons Villers terr. 2, Frasnes-lez-Gosselies (RES Frasnoise, formerly B pitch of RES Frasnoise)
Belgium, province: Hainaut = Henegouwen
8 VIII 2025 / RES Frasnoise - RUS Ophain 2-3 / Pre-season friendly
Timeline
- 1952 / Foundation of a football club in Frasnes-lez-Gosselies, a village in the northeast of the Province of Hainaut. The new club takes on the name Etoile Sportive (ES) Frasnoise, acquiring registration number 5571 upon joining the Belgian Football Association (URBSFA / KBVB). The club settles on a pitch situated at Rue Jean-Baptiste Loriaux – several hundreds of yards to the south of the current Complexe Sportif Les Bons Villers.
- 1979 / Moving away from its pitch at the southern end of the village, ES Frasnoise settles at the newly laid-out communal sports park, officially named Complexe Sportif Les Bons Villers – named after the municipality formed in 1977, of which Frasnes-lez-Gosselies is the most populous village. At this park, ES Frasnoise has the luxury of two pitches, the westernmost of which becomes the main pitch. The pitch shown in the pictures below became the new ground's B pitch.
- 2018 / Due to a thorough renovation of the club’s facilities in Frasnes-lez-Gosselies, involving both of the football pitches being laid out anew, RES Frasnoise moves its activities to Terrain de la Bruyère du Coq, the training ground of RC Villers-la-Ville in Sart-Dames-Avelines, just across the provincial border in Walloon Brabant, for the first months of the 2018-19 season. In October 2018, the club returns to a completely renovated Complexe Sportif Les Bons Villers, with a new grass pitch on pitch 1 and a synthetic second pitch. From this moment on, virtually all of the club’s activities, including first team football, have been moved to this synthetic side-pitch.
- 2019 / Champions in Hainaut’s Provincial League 3D, with an equal number of points as Pont-à-Celles Buzet B, but with a markedly better goal difference (+75 vs. +35), RES Frasnoise wins promotion to Provincial League 2 after an absence of nine years at that level.
- 2022 / Runners-up in Hainaut’s Provincial League 2C, 5 points behind champions RUS Courcelloise, RES Frasnoise qualifies for the promotion play-offs – being drawn against AC Estaimbourg in R1 – but no results from this play-off round can be found; what is certain, though, is that the club failed to break down the door to Provincial League 1.
- 2024 / Finishing in fifth place in Hainaut’s Provincial League 2C, RES Frasnoise qualifies for the promotion play-offs, in which the club is eliminated in R1 by RUS Herseautoise (2-0).
- 2025 / Champions in Hainaut’s Provincial League 2C, 5 points ahead of runners-up FC Gerpinnes, RES Frasnoise manages a return to Provincial League 1 after an absence of 27 years at that level.
